Royersford Fire Department said they were called to the 200 block of 2nd Avenue just before 6 p.m. Photos from the scene showed multiple rowhomes engulfed in flames.
The Red Cross set up a warming and cell phone charging station to assist the displaced residents, authorities said. Those affected have been given temporary housing, according to Mayor Alex Metricarti.
Emergency responders were still on scene fighting the fire and restoring electrical power to neighbors as of 10 p.m., efforts which were complicated by high winds, the mayor said.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the cause of the fire with assistance from RFD, officials added.
